OUR JOURNEY BEGAN IN BOSTON, THEN TOOK A LEFT TURN TO AUSTRALIA
The BRIDJ technology was born in 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts out of a need to provide transport options for parts of the city that were under serviced by public transport.
By April 2015 the service had expanded to Washington, D.C. and again to Kansas City in February 2016 with a pilot project that used BRIDJ as the operator for a microtransit system under the RideKC brand.
Then, after a major partnership fell through, BRIDJ was acquired by Transit Systems, an Australian-based company with experience in running successful bus operations around the world. As part of this transition, US services ceased operation in April 2017, with the service re-commencing in Sydney, Australia in December 2017.
The story of every technology startup is different, and all have their ups and downs. Yet, with major service and systems upgrades mapped out ahead of us, the BRIDJ journey looks to be far from over.
